CREATINE

What is creatine?

  • Creatine is a compound that is naturally produced in the body. About 95% of the body’s creatine is stored in the muscles.

What does creatine do?

  • Creatine is one of the most widely studied supplements to date. It has been shown to improve exercise performance, increase muscle mass, enhance strength, and aid in recovery.

Who should take creatine?

  • Creatine is recommended for anyone participating in a resistance training routine. While taking creatine it is important to keep a high water intake to avoid muscle cramping and dehydration.

How much creatine should I take?

  • Research shows that 2-3g is an adequate amount of creatine for muscles to absorb. It is important to note that many creatine products have a serving size of 5g - this is not necessary. Stick to a half scoop and you’ll get the same benefit.

When is the best time to take creatine?

  • It doesn’t really matter. Take it when you’ll remember to, whether it be first thing in the morning, before or after your workout, or in the evening.
