Ever look around and feel like you aren't where you want to be? It happens to everyone and can be a pretty discouraging thought process. It's easy to get caught in a circle of negativity; to make excuses, and to think that "well if I would have done this 2 years ago I'd be in a better place". So why not turn those thoughts into positive action? How about thinking "If I start this today, I'll be where I want to be in 2 years." One thing that I have learned is that however long you think something is going to take, multiply that by 3-4x and that's a more accurate timeline. The first step is to figure out a plan, the second is to get to work, and the third and fourth are to be patient and enjoy the process. What's the point in worrying about something the entire time you're working on it, only to finish and start worrying about something else? Life can be a whirlwind, but so can you. Instead of stressing over problems, embrace finding solutions. Enjoy the challenge of figuring out what needs to be done and how you're going to do it.
I like to look at any problem I'm up against as if it is Usain Bolt - the fastest man to ever walk the planet. I could be twice as fast as I am and still not outrun him, so why try? On the other hand, I look at myself as if I am Brian Urlacher - one of the all-time greatest linebackers in the history of football. He could cover all 53.5 yards from sideline to sideline, and lower a boom at impact. I can't outrun Usain Bolt, but I can demolish him in the a gap. So if you're feeling stuck where you are, pick a few things you need to fix and attack them. No excuses, no woulda shoulda coulda. Look back in 6 months and instead say "wow, I'm glad I'm not where I was 6 months ago."
Hard Work always pays off.
